Apollo uses digital, rather than the traditional analog, communications. That means
when you begin your stop, Apollo engages your towed vehicle’s brakes within 1/4 to
1/2 of a second, instead of an analog delay of up to 3 seconds. And when it comes to
braking, a second can be the difference between a safe stop and an accident.
The ToadStop is activated whenever you apply your RV's brakes. As you press the RV
brake pedal, your towed vehicle's brake pedal is pulled gradually, gently, and with
balanced pressure, to make a safe effective stop. The ToadStop II features the same
exclusive features of the ToadStop (rolling stop testing, independent remote braking,
etc) in a self-contained, floating box deisgn.
BrakeSafe employs either a push or pull cylinder mounted in the towed vehicle and
uses air pressure from your RV's brakes to effect a smooth, quick stop - always
assuring the proper braking ratio. The optional BrakeLock II breakaway system
(BX88141) releases air to the brake actuator to lock brakes if a breakaway occurs.
When your RV slows down, the momentum of the towed vehicle pushes the AutoStop
into the hitch. AutoStop retracts the cable, proportionally activating your car's brakes.
The more force applied, the tighter the cable, so you're assured of full braking power
at any speed.
